Roy & Jean Slater were two of the nicest people you could ever meet.
Together they ran Back Roads Antiques for 27 years until Roy passed in 2012.
Their love of collecting and preserving history lead them into the antique business.
The business then enabled them to expand their vast collection. Back Roads Antiques was generall only on weekends unless of course they were traveling the country on a buying trip. We remember running across their shop in the early 1980's while exploring the country roads of Oktibbeha County. When we became auctioneers in 1999, Roy and Jean soon became regulars at our sales. Among their private collection we were astonished to recognize a number of items we had sold at auction many years ago. Literally 1000's of Items to be sold. We have moved another 100 boxes of their Private Collection to the shop

Directions: From Highway 12 in Starkville (Highly Recommended to avoid gravel roads depending on where you are coming from) - From Highway 12 Turn South onto Blackjack Rd and go to the Right Fork at the Roundabout onto Oktoc Rd. Continue on Oktoc Rd for 5.3 miles to Left on Chapel Hill Rd for 2.7 miles to Right onto Old Crawford Rd (gravel) for approx. 3/10 mile to Sale Site on Right. Watch for Signs. Field & Yard Parking.
